"Matthieu Faury, with Primal Heart, is embarking on a more complicated challenge than it seems. It is not just for him to grapple with gray marble, a rock of exceptional hardness to extract, by subtraction of matter, the volume of a stone gorilla. He still needs to correct the very representation of the gorilla, a misguided and disguised representation (…) How does Matthieu Faury consider the gorilla, with what gaze? A human gaze of the 21st century, at a time when the new Joan of Arc is called Greta Thunberg, and when the battle is of the utmost urgency against predators of all kinds and all forms of ecocide.
