Simianity

smooth, shiny, proud, and happy sculptures

How embarrassing is this term humanity, which on the one hand designates the human species, homo sapiens, and on the other hand defines qualities that it does not always demonstrate. Ethical qualities such as respect, dignity, benevolence, sociability, are sometimes more an ideal than a reality (#war, #genocide, #ecocide). The simians, for their part, are perhaps not as civilized, but they also know how to be altruistic and sociable, controlled and empathetic, dignified and respectful ... This idea is embodied here in a set of sculptures, smooth, shiny, proud, and happy.
